Water Distribution Modeling

Miller & Associates has completed numerous distribution system models for communities in Nebraska and Kansas. The development of a water distribution system model allows a community to simulate the operation of their water system under varying conditions. The model is a tool that allows the conceptual development of improvements that can be simulated prior to construction to see if the improvement actually can solve the specific problem and how it affects the water system in whole. Pressure problems, low flow problems, fire flow problems as well as others can be simulated to match system conditions in order to develop solutions.

Water distribution modeling can also be used as a planning tool for proposed and future development to see how expansion of a system affects the total water system. This allows the community to improve infrastructure to allow expansion or additional water use from the system.
